Heavenly Father, as I place ashes on my forehead today, I pray that you would send your Holy Spirit upon me that I might prepare myself for the season of Lent. Lord, in order to fully experience the resurrection and the joy of Easter, I know I must walk with you through penance and prayers. Give me the courage to do the work of Lent and let me move from ashes to oil into a celebration of Your magnificent love.
